Situated on a private concession within and bounded by the Masuwe River and the Zambezi gorges, The Elephant Camp has breathtaking views of the Victoria Falls' spray, and the spectacular gorges which separate Zimbabwe and Zambia.

The Elephant Camp is a luxury and intimate lodge under canvas within easy reach of Victoria Falls and all its attractions and activities, yet secluded in its own private game reserve so as to allow closeup encounters with wildlife.

Access is by road transfer from Victoria Falls (15 kilometers from Victoria Falls Airport and 10 kilometers from Victoria Falls town), Livingstone and Kasane.

The Elephant Camp offers exclusive suite accommodation for only 24 guests in 12 luxury tents. All suites are gorge facing and have:-

  • private viewing deck and plunge pool
  • private lounge area
  • air-conditioning and fans
  • luxury Victoria & Albert bath
  • inside and outside shower
  • mini bar and tea/coffee stations
  • 220V mains Electricity
  • USB charging ports & wi-fi

The main tented area houses an open-plan lounge, bar and indoor dining area, surrounded by wide verandah on two sides. Meals and teas can be taken "al fresco" on the verandahs and a traditional pizza oven has been recently installed at one end for freshly-baked lunches.

On a lower deck is a swimming pool area which also houses a sunken firepit where guests can share safari stories round the glowing embers, under the stars of an African night.  Two small decks nearby are great spots for private dinners or secluded sundowners.

The Elephant Camp offers close interaction with wildlife in particular elephant at the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary.  All guests staying at The Elephant Camp will have an opportunity to meet the Wild Horizons elephants.

All other activities on offer in Victoria Falls area are available at an additional cost.

The Elephant Camp West  is a smaller, more intimate western extension to this popular, award-winning camp. Four tented suites and a central dining area separate from the main camp now cater for groups and families traveling to Victoria Falls. Each suite accommodates two adults and two accompanying children on sleeper couches. The luxurious suites, each with a private lounge area, viewing deck and plunge pool, all overlook the Victoria Falls National Park, and the spray from the Victoria Falls.  All are equipped with air-conditioning and fans, bath, inside and outside shower and mini bar and tea/ coffee stations and have 220v mains electricity.

The Elephant Camp West is ideal for bookings requiring exclusive use of the facility for occasions such as weddings or large family gatherings.

The Elephant Camp is one of several luxury lodges managed by Wild Horizons who also provide a complete range of activities, tours and transfers as well as The Lookout Café in Victoria Falls.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE This is a small and elegant lodge -- amazing experience!! The accommodations are fabulous, the food is delicious and the experiences are exceptional and unique. We did a bush walk WITH a cheetah, interaction with elephants and went on an elephant safari. The staff anticipates your every need whether on the property or into Victoria Falls, etc. Truly an amazing experience.

Belatedly writing this review from October 2015, but our experience was so sensational that I felt obligated to share it. From the moment we were warmly greeted at the entrance we felt indulged and valued but in a very unpretentious and genuine manner. We sadly only had one night after an excellent Wild Horizons canoeing trip, but in that oh too brief time we enjoyed the luxury of the beautiful tented rooms, a tour of the Falls with our delightful guide Vusa, feeding the elephants, meeting Sylvester the cheetah and a sunset drive to look over the magnificent canyon. The food was also a highlight and it was impressive despite a booking message re 2 of our group having significant dietary issues not being conveyed, that they were immediately accommodated with no fuss, including the chef making special desserts for someone who has a fructose intolerance (no sugar, fruit etc.). I have been fortunate to travel often and stay in some extraordinary places, but this will remain a highlight for a long time to come. I recommend it without hesitation to anyone (we were a group of 1 couple and 3 single friends) and plan to return in the near future for a much longer visit. Much thanks to the whole staffing team for making our brief stay so special.

Himil (I'm sorry if I've spelt this wrong) was absolutely wonderful, went above and beyond for us. We were only able to afford one night and the tent and accomodation was beautiful. With only 1 short night we were able to do everything on the list of options; meet Sylvester the cheetah, elephant experience, visit the Lookout Cafe for a beautiful lunch, they even organised a visit to a local village which was by far our most rewarding experience. We got to meet Judge Judy the vulture and we were waited on with great service. I have highly recommended this place to all of my friends planning trips to South Africa.

Our stay at the Elephant was the highlight of out first wonderful trip to Africa! We felt the accommodations and the attention to detail far exceeded our expectations. From the arrival to our departure we felt special. Though there were other guests enjoying their own holiday, it felt as if the staff and facilities were exclusively ours. Highly recommend The Elephant Camp to anyone planning a trip to the South Africa area, with as long a stay as schedule and finances allow.
