Located in the heart of the Zambezi Valley, you will find Mwinilunga is one of the most friendly and comfortable tented safari camps in Mana Pools.

Providing a warm family atmosphere of home away from home, the camp is owned and managed by Dave McFarland and Tessa Arkwright, together with Roogs, their Downs’ Syndrome son and their amazingly dedicated team.

The camp consists of 6 twin tents, all with flushing ensuite toilets, and all with their own unique view. Nestled under some enormous Trichilia trees right on the banks of the Zambezi River, the camp is completely unfenced, merging comfort with the natural environment. Guests are immediately captivated by the down-to-earth atmosphere of this camp, as well as the charm and warmth of the people that work in it.

Best known for the delicious cuisine, the comfort of the beds, and the fantastic professional guiding that is offered – more than 60% of the bookings taken at Mwinilunga are for returning guests.

Activities offered include game walks, game drives, birding, fishing, canoeing, photographic experience and star gazing.

Tess, I know that I speak for our entire group when I say we absolutely loved our weekend with Dave and team in Trichelia Camp!!! We had a delightful time, enjoyed the fantastic food, great company and an outstanding staff. We were constantly amazed at the encyclopedic recall from Jim Mackie - we all came away with a new understanding and appreciation for the balance within the eco-system in Mana Pools. We also all agreed that we would love to return to your camp in a different season - soon - just to appreciate the changes in the foliage density! We were also struck by the quality and presentation of the meals - and we all want to approach Tess about her cook training classes, both for us individually and our domestic staffs. Again, thank you all for such a wonderful opportunity for us.
