Zambezi Cruise & Safaris add value to their unique luxury boat cruises on Lake Kariba, with a portfolio of beautiful lodges around Zimbabwe. 

Visitors embarking on a Lake Kariba cruise, may also enjoy the luxury of an overnight stop on land at either end of their cruise - at Kariba Safari Lodge in Kariba Town (at the eastern-Mana Pools end of the lake) or at Masumu River Lodge in Binga (at the western-Victoria Falls end of the lake).  

 

LODGES AT KARIBA TOWN (eastern (Mana Pools) end of Lake Kariba

a) Kariba Safari Lodge - the latest addition to the Zambezi Cruise & Safaris portfolio, is located on Mica Point in Kariba Town.

Situated on a forested mountainside with sweeping views over the blue water and the islands in the eastern basin of the lake, this newly built Safari Lodge offers individual Lodges and Suites that are distributed over 33 acres of woodland hillside sloping down to the lake shore and beach area.

The lodge comprises nine individual lodges and eight suites set on various levels amongst the tropical forest – all have en-suite bathrooms and private lake view patios. 

Each lodging has ceiling fans, mosquito nets, a mini bar and complimentary tea and coffee facilities.

The main lodge has been built with an elevated deck set against the mountainside where the open-plan lounge, restaurant, outdoor patio and bar is located -  all of which claim immediate attention to the awe-inspiring views of the “ocean-like” Lake Kariba.

Additional facilities include a swimming pool and casual bar with a communal boma area.  Free Wi-Fi is available to guests. 

Kariba Safari Lodge is an ideal conference and wedding venue as it has a spectacular separate conference/wedding venue, also with Lake vistas.

Activities to be enjoyed are either a half–day tour of Kariba to the Dam Wall, Santa Barbara Chapel, Kariba Heights and Mahombekombe Township, a sunset cruise or a half-day guided fishing expedition to catch the famed Tiger or African indigenous Bream (Tilapia) fish.

Access is via the main road from Harare-Makuti for the self-drive or 4x4 enthusiasts and is only 5 minutes from Kariba Dam Wall for those travelling the 3-hour drive from Lusaka. 

Road transfers are available when combining the Zambezi Cruise & Safaris Lodges and Cruise Boats circuits or a private aircraft charter can be organized from Victoria Falls or Harare Airports.

LODGES AT BINGA: (western (Victoria Falls) end of Lake Kariba

c) Masumu River Lodge is the base for arrivals and departures at the western (Victoria Falls) end of Lake Kariba for Zambezi Cruise Safaris' lake cruises.  

The Lodge has a spectacular location on top of a hill 10 kms from Binga Town in the heart of the Tongan Tribal area, some 310 km from Victoria Falls and 209 km from Hwange National Park main gate.

It has a magnificent view over the islands and waters of Lake Kariba’s western side.  The main building is built on two levels into the slope of the hill hence both the dining room and the bar below have stunning views out over the water.  The glittering swimming pool offers and opportunity to cool off on hot afternoons.

There are nine en-suite lodges each with private balcony.  Each lodge has twin beds that can be converted into king size doubles.

Also, two family lodges, can accommodate up to 4 adults in twin beds that can be converted, each have private verandas offer beautiful views of the lake.

All lodges have air conditioning, mosquito nets, mini bar and complimentary tea and coffee facilities.

Optional activities include cultural village tours, fishing and sunset cruises.  

d) Kulizwe Marina Lodge - Binga: 30 Bedrooms   – currently under construction.  Opening soon.

 

LODGE IN MANA POOLS
Mana Pools Safari Lodge nestles in thick woodland at the western end of the Mana Pools National Park  "floodplain" area.  Set amongst riverine figs, African mango and Apple-ring Albida trees, the thatched chalets enjoy commanding views of the sweeping flood plains and mighty Zambezi River. 

The lodge is frequented daily by majestic elephant, secretive kudu, buffalo, painted dogs and even lion – all of which often pass through the camp.

As the only permanent luxury lodge within Mana Pools, the facility offers unparalleled comfort, game viewing and photographic opportunities, with Mana’s light and beauty unmatched anywhere on the African continent.

12 thatched chalets and the main lodge have been tastefully built around many wild and ancient trees,  A giant African Mango takes centre stage in the main dining/lounge/reception area.

 

LODGES AT SELOUS  (1-hour's drive from Harare)

Pamuzinda Safari Lodge , Chengeta Safari Lodge & Shumba Guest Lodge, are surrounded by a game park and boast tranquil and relaxing environments for their guests. Conveniently close to Harare town and the international airport, and just off the Bulawayo Road, they make an excellent stopover point for guests taking tours further afield.

Hello. I would like to thank Zambezi Cruise & Safaris for the superb services you offered us during our 3 nights stay at Kariba Safari lodge. The reception was superb and the hospitality was very nice. We enjoyed everything. Thanks to Shinga for making sure that we get there everything in place; and also Janice and team who often checked on us. We will definitely visit you again!! Next stop is Pamuzinda!!!
