The MS African Dream and MS Zimbabwean Dream are deluxe, intimate 16-berth cruiseboats on Lake Kariba, available for cruising groups or private charters.
While international tourism is currently curtailed by the COVID-19 pandemic, these two beautiful vessels (operated by international cruise company, Croisi Europe) are open to local and regional groups wanting a truly luxury, exclusive-use Lake Kariba cruising experience. (Note: No children under 12).
Each cruiseboat is fully air-conditioned, with 8 comfortable cabins all with en-suite bathrooms. There are floor-to-ceiling curtained windows and a glass sliding door with a mosquito mesh across the open door for fresh air. Two of the front rooms on each ship, have their own mini balconies with a small table and two chairs.
An indoor staircase allows guests to move between their cabin level and the dining/lounge area. An outdoor staircase leads up to the sun deck which has comfortable couches and umbrellas and a 360-degree view.
Both ships have hot tubs - at the front on the African Dream, and at the back on the Zimbabwean. Both have a shaded outdoor seating area and sun loungers off the dining/lounge area.
The 8 crew members of each boat (a Captain, two chefs, barmen, and deck hands) have been trained by Croisi-Europe and provide a 5-star service to guests.
Each vessel has a covered tender boat for game-viewing, fishing or site-seeing, with a toilet and small hand basin on board.
The ships have night navigation and GPS, which allows them to travel at any time.
The international cruise company, Croisi Europe offer a 9-day African Safari and Cruise holiday in Southern Africa which includes a 4-day cruise on Lake Kariba aboard the African Dream or the Zimbabwean Dream embarking from Kariba Town, and including the Gache-Gache and Sanyati rivers.
The cruiseboats sail through incredible landscapes with the backdrop of the Matusadona National Park, where guests can also enjoy game drives on land. It is possible to encounter elephants, buffaloes, impala, waterbuck, and even lions or leopards on excursions by small tender boat or open-air vehicle.
The journey is concluded with a stay at the legendary Victoria Falls, one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders - where the Zambezi River plunges over the cliff to become the widest waterfall in the world, creating the "smoke that thunders."
