AFRICAN BUSH CAMPS' COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
In Mana Pools National Park, African Bush Camps offer guests the following varied experiences:-
Kanga Camp is a 12-bedded tented camp sensitively built on wooden platforms around the edge of a pan (waterhole) in the interior of Mana Pools National Park. The spacious tents have fans, an en-suite bathroom, flushing toilet, outdoor shower, hot running water and a secluded veranda. Kanga has a family tent with a wraparound terrace facing the pan with private seating and dining areas (this camp accommodates children aged 7+). The honeymoon tent features a rolltop bath on the adjoining secluded deck, ideal for a romantic starlit bath.
The whole camp is solar-powered. A relaxing lounge -dining area and splash pool are raised on decking under the shade of large trees overlooking the pan, creating a perfect setting for the “Armchair Safari” experience, for which this camp has become well-known.
The waterhole at Kanga attracts large concentrations of animals and birds, especially during the dry season, and elephant, lion, wild dog and leopard are frequent visitors. A carefully-disguised photographic "hide" under the main decking provides a perfect spot for those "close-up", eye-level wildlife shots.
Zambezi Expeditions is an elegant 12-bedded tented camp with a central, tented living/dining area, set under the shade of winter thorn and ebony trees on the shores of the Zambezi River in Mana Pools. Each tent has en suite bathroom facilities with hot bucket showers
Open between April and November for a minimum 2-night stay, this camp offers a combination of adventure and elegance for private safaris designed to connect with nature in a deep and meaningful way. Guests can combine this option with a stay at Kanga Camp for a varied inland and riverside experience of the magic of Mana Pools.
Nyamatusi Camp is African Bush Camps’ latest eco-conscious safari lodge set on the banks of the Zambezi in a wilderness location in Mana Pools National Park. Sustainable designed, fully solar-powered and built from all-natural materials the camp embraces comfort and elegance embedded in the wild. Its six luxury tented suites have uninterrupted views of the river and escarpment beyond. Each has air-conditioning, an indoor and outdoor shower, a private viewing deck and plunge pool. The central living-dining-bar area has a plunge pool and open-air fire circle.
Nyamatusi Mahogany, is separate from the main Namatusi Camp and is the perfect luxury safari experience for families. It consists of 2 tented suites and 2 family suites nested under ancient mahogany trees on the shores of the Zambezi River, with a lounge, dining room, fire circle, plunge pool and elevated viewing decks.
Activities at African Bush Camps properties in Mana Pools include walking safaris, game drives, and birding led by qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you. The opportunity to leave one's vehicle and track wild animals on foot is a rare experience, which, in Mana Pools, provides extraordinary wildlife encounters.
Guests staying at Zambezi Expeditions and Nyamatusi can also enjoy guided canoeing on the Zambezi River and fishing (catch and release only). Children over the age of 7 are welcome (and special tailor-made activities are provided for them, especially at Nyamatusi Mahogany), but walking safaris and canoeing are restricted to those 16 years and over.
